Family Health Insurance in Tampa
We find a plan that covers parents and kids together, with the right doctors in network and a deductible your family can live with. You get plan options from several carriers laid out side by side, with screen captures of what we checked, so nothing is a guess.

One plan for everyone, checked person by person
A family plan is not just an individual plan with more names on it. The deductible works differently, the out-of-pocket limit is higher, and one child's specialist or one parent's medication can make a cheap plan the wrong plan.
So we check each person on the plan. Their doctors, their regular medications, any planned care like braces or a new baby. Then we show you what we found. You get screen captures of the network search and the drug list for each plan we recommend, so you can see the proof yourself.
We are an independent insurance agency, which means we can quote more than one carrier. You never get a bill from us for this work. The carrier your family signs up with pays us, so our help adds nothing to what you spend.
What we do for your family coverage
A short list of every person's needs
We start with names, ages, doctors and regular medications for each family member. That list drives everything else.
Network checks with screen captures
We look up your pediatrician, your family doctor and any specialists in each carrier's network. You get a capture of each search result, so you know the doctor was actually listed.
Deductible math explained
Some plans use an embedded deductible, where one sick child hits a lower individual limit and coverage kicks in for them. Others use one family deductible for everyone. We show which type each plan uses and what it means for your budget.
Subsidy check
Many families qualify for premium tax credits based on family size and income. We run the numbers and show how they apply on ACA Marketplace Plans.
Add-ons when they make sense
Pediatric dental is often built into family plans, but adults usually need separate coverage. We can add Dental Insurance or Vision Insurance if your family needs it, and skip it if not.
Signs it is time to look at your family plan
A new baby or a marriage
Both open a special enrollment window, usually 60 days. Miss it and you may wait until open enrollment.
Losing coverage through work
If a job change ends your employer plan, your family needs new coverage fast. We can compare options before the old plan runs out.
Your kids' doctor left the network
Networks change every year. If your pediatrician dropped off, a different plan may bring them back.
You hit the family deductible every year
If you always pay the full deductible, a plan with a higher premium and lower deductible could cost less over the year. We do the math with your real numbers.
Premiums jumped at renewal
A big increase is a good reason to compare. Another carrier may cover the same doctors for less.
How your family plan review goes
- 1
Free consultation
Meet with an agent at our office, by phone or by video. It takes about half an hour, and there is no fee for the consultation.
- 2
We do the checking
We search networks, drug lists and costs for each family member across several carriers. Every lookup gets a screen capture.
- 3
You see it side by side
We walk you through two or three plans next to each other: premium, deductible, out-of-pocket limit and which doctors are covered. The captures come with it, so you can look again later.
- 4
Enrollment
Once you pick, we handle the enrollment paperwork with you and confirm the start date. If a card or a doctor listing looks wrong after you enroll, call us and we will sort it out with the carrier.
What moves the price of family coverage
We cannot quote a price until we know who is on the plan. Family premiums depend on a few clear things, and we show you how each one affects your options.
- Ages and number of people
- Each person adds to the premium, and adults cost more than kids. Under ACA rules, premiums only count up to three children under 21.
- Family income
- Income and family size decide whether you get a tax credit and how big it is. For many families, this changes the monthly cost more than anything else.
- Plan level and network type
- Bronze plans have lower premiums and higher deductibles. Gold plans flip that. HMOs usually cost less than PPOs but limit you to the network.
- Tobacco use
- Carriers can charge more for tobacco users, so we ask up front to keep the quote honest.
Family health insurance questions
Something not covered here? (813) 437-9168
Can my kids stay on my plan after they turn 18?
Yes. Federal rules let a child stay on a parent's plan up to age 26. Getting married, going to college or moving out does not end that. We can show you whether keeping an older child on your plan or giving them their own plan costs less.
My spouse has work coverage. Should the kids go on that or on a separate plan?
It depends on what the employer charges to add dependents. Under current rules, when adding family members at work costs too much, the rest of the family may qualify for marketplace tax credits. We compare both ways and show you the numbers.
Does it cost me anything to work with you?
No. Our pay comes from the carrier you enroll with, so there is nothing for you to pay us. Your premium is the same as buying direct from the carrier.
When can I sign up?
The yearly signup period opens late in the year and closes in January. The rest of the year, a family can only enroll after a life change such as a birth, a move, a marriage or losing other coverage. Tell us what changed and we will let you know if it counts.
How do I know the doctors are really in network?
We search each carrier's directory and send you a screen capture of the result. We also suggest calling the office to confirm they still take the plan, since directories are not always current.
